About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and oversee larger, multi-shift, or higher-complexity warehouse operations
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to Supervisors and lead team members
- Manage labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
- Support operational planning, staffing strategies, and workload forecasting
- Identify operational risks, trends, and improvement opportunities and develop action plans
- Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Drive productivity, service, safety, and financial KPIs
- Support cost-control initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects
- Act as an escalation point for complex employee relations, performance, and operational issues
- Participate in workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development
- Support implementation of new processes, systems, and client requirements
- Communicate operational performance and risks to senior leadership and client representatives
- Review operational data and metrics for decision-making
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans
- Assist in physical operations as needed to ensure service continuity
- Conduct staff meetings and keep management and client representatives informed of operational issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience leading complex operations, multiple teams, or shifts
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with RF scanners
- Experience with WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Business communication skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related warehouse duties
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and personnel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work overtime as dictated by the business
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
