About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise labor management and planning for inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
  • Plan labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
  • Conduct staff meetings and review daily and weekly work activities
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
  • Develop systems and procedures for safely and profitably managing operations, equipment, and products
  • Manage operations to meet productivity, service, cost, KPI, quality, and client-agreement objectives
  • Implement and report cost-saving measures and suggest operational efficiencies
  • Hire, train, assign, supervise, counsel, and discipline team members as needed
  • Support Human Resources and participate in hiring, training, professional development, promotions, wage increases, and performance evaluations
  • Train and evaluate warehouse staff
  • Plan daily work schedules using work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and available resources
  • Assign duties to warehouse staff and delegate training and supervisory responsibilities
  • Review pending jobs and trends and plan warehouse-space, supply, equipment, and staffing changes
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of work and provide guidance
  • Keep the Operations Manager informed of progress and problems
  • Assist with physical operations as needed
  • Maintain team motivation and customer satisfaction
  • Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities
  • Support and train team members in corporate and client Standard Operating Procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory role
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Knowledge of WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying product quantities and counting inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and personnel skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to participate in cross-training activities
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as required
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
  • Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation preferred
