About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, budget, oversee, and document projects related to new business implementation and existing business initiatives
- Focus project work on warehousing and distribution centers within the Solutions organization
- Work closely with clients and DSV leadership to keep projects on schedule, within scope, and on budget
- Define project implementation phases, functional-area deliverables, and timelines
- Align client and business input to capture project scope
- Create detailed project schedules with milestones, critical-path tasks, dependencies, internal tasks, client tasks, and contractor tasks
- Communicate project scope and schedule to project resources and stakeholders
- Hold team members and contractors accountable for deliverables and deadlines
- Manage project budget, scope, timeline, and change control
- Lead status meetings, capture updates, next steps, risks, and mitigation plans
- Facilitate detailed small-group discussions
- Escalate issues and risks to the Manager and Project Sponsor
- Lead Steering Committee updates covering executive-level status, budget, and risks
- Manage transition from project execution to stable operations
- Facilitate AQP sessions
- Assist with drafting MS Project files for RFP responses
- Provide planning, risk mitigation, team leadership, project ownership, and project oversight
- Verify work quality and progress, follow up on open items, and keep teams aligned on priorities and timing
- Communicate clearly with customers and facilitate meetings and workshops
- Manage resources assigned to the project team as needed
- Support special projects, implementations, and process improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year degree required; Management, Engineering, or Operations preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience
- Minimum of 5 years of Logistics/Warehousing Industry experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Warehouse Management System experience
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Good mathematical skills
- E-commerce experience, including starting up small- to large-volume solutions
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Ability to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business needs
- Ability to travel approximately 50%
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
- Ability to travel by plane and automobile
- Ability to work in a construction environment
- Preferred: 3PL environment experience
- Preferred: warehouse automation applications experience, including Pick to Light, Automated Sortation, Voice Pick, and conveyor design
- Preferred: PMP or other formal project management training
- Spanish is a plus
- AutoCAD is a plus
