About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, budget, oversee, and document projects related to new business implementations and existing business initiatives within contract logistics
- Manage projects focused on warehousing and distribution centers
- Work with clients and DSV leadership to ensure projects are on schedule, within scope, and on budget
- Understand all phases of project implementation schedules, core deliverables, and timing
- Align client and business input to define project scope
- Create detailed project schedules with milestones, critical-path tasks, dependencies, internal tasks, client tasks, and contractor tasks
- Communicate project scope and schedule to project resources and stakeholders
- Hold team members and contractors accountable for deliverables
- Manage project budget, scope, timeline, and change control
- Lead status meetings, capture updates and risks, and facilitate detailed working sessions
- Escalate issues and risks to the Manager and Project Sponsor
- Lead Steering Committee updates on executive-level status, budget, and risks
- Manage transition from project execution to stable operations
- Facilitate AQP sessions
- Assist with drafting MS Project files for RFP responses
- Build comprehensive project plans with tasks, due dates, and owners
- Anticipate risks and develop mitigation plans
- Ensure functional owners understand and complete deliverables
- Verify work quality and proactively follow up on open items
- Drive team ownership, alignment, priorities, and completion timing
- Push the business and escalate for support before issues become critical
- Perform other duties and manage assigned project resources as directed by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year degree required; Management, Engineering, or Operations preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience
- Minimum of 5 years of Logistics/Warehousing Industry experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management System(s)
- English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal communication and language skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of business and facilitate meetings or workshops
- Good mathematical skills
- E-commerce experience, including starting up small- to large-volume solutions
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
- Ability to work overtime as dictated by business needs
- Preferred: experience in a 3PL environment
- Preferred: experience with warehouse automation applications such as Pick to Light, Automated Sortation, Voice Pick, and conveyor design
- Preferred: PMP or other formal project management training
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; bend, stoop, reach, climb, and stand for several hours per day
- Ability to travel by plane and/or automobile
