About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide day-to-day health, safety, and environmental support to site leadership and operating teams
  • Coach, teach, and train site personnel on safe operating behaviors
  • Design, develop, and implement safety and risk control programs
  • Ensure adherence to DSV safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant on sustainable loss improvement processes
  • Manage facility, operations, and staff safety and security
  • Maintain safety metrics, IFR statistics, HSE goals, action plans, and performance profiles
  • Implement systems to comply with applicable HSE laws and regulations
  • Review and develop HSE policies and procedures and ensure timely training completion
  • Conduct and monitor risk assessments, workplace safety audits, and corrective actions
  • Represent DSV with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and other regulatory agencies
  • Handle workers’ compensation claims through closure
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses and implement approved preventive actions
  • Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, required programs, and training
  • Conduct safety-program training for new hires and ensure employees can identify workplace hazards
  • Manage environmental compliance, improvement opportunities, sustainability integration, and USEPA reporting
  • Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years’ experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • Prior experience in safety observations/inspections
  • Experience developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans
  • Knowledge of safety and health management systems and practices
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Knowledge of WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
  • Ability to work mandatory or voluntary overtime
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements, including walking, standing, bending, sitting, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling 11–20 pounds, and reaching above shoulder, squatting, or kneeling
