About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and oversee all aspects of freight forwarding operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management
Coordinate with carriers, logistics providers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments
Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations
Manage and mentor a team of freight forwarders, providing training and support
Communicate regularly with clients to ensure their shipping needs are met and provide shipment-status updates
Monitor industry trends and developments and adjust operations to remain competitive and meet customer demand

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required
3-5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field
Fluency in English is required
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and project management skills
Leadership and team management skills
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of air freight logistics and customs regulations
Understanding of trade laws and regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Professional certifications in freight forwarding, such as IATA or NCBFAA, may be preferred
Experience managing a team and working with clients is preferred
Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
Experience with logistics software and systems is preferred
