About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Schedule and communicate pickup/delivery times, locations, and on-time expectations to the hauling department and/or local operations
Track customer cargo and communicate appropriate information while resolving problems
Coordinate with operations and billing departments to ensure orders are complete and accurate in multiple systems
Electronically register orders using the in-house registration system, van line application, and Mover’s Suite application
Process worksheets, quotes, bills of lading, inventories, and other order paperwork
Track the progress of every customer order
Determine required services and equipment needs and communicate details to departments, drivers, and other personnel
Manage assigned accounts and coordinate with customers regarding orders, registrations, and changes
Provide professional communication to internal and external customers
Use internet, email, and company phone systems for scheduling
Provide coworker coverage when necessary or directed by management
Call other agents for local job assistance throughout the US
Escalate issues to the manager when appropriate
Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need

College degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, a related field, or experience in lieu of education
4 years’ industry experience in a Dispatch or related role
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook)
Highly developed organizational and people skills
Good communication skills
Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with carriers, drivers and internal personnel
Ability to coordinate, solve problems, track loads and provide excellent customer service
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balance multiple duties concurrently and maintain attention to detail
Ability to work independently and within a team
Working knowledge of company and the services offered
Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays if required
Project management and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask, meet or exceed customer expectations, and develop creative transportation solutions
Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
Strong experience in transportation and customer service
Ability to perform the stated physical demands and travel domestically if required
