About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the BENLUKIE legal team within DSV’s global Group Legal department
Hold overall responsibility for the in-house legal function across all countries in the BENLUKIE Cluster
Oversee legal advice and support for commercial and operational business units, particularly in transportation, logistics, commercial, and contract law
Act as the primary legal business partner and key contact for country, cluster, regional, global, customer, and external stakeholders
Lead the review, drafting, negotiation, and management of customer, supplier, and other commercial agreements
Provide strategic legal guidance on disputes, claims, litigation, and contentious matters
Manage and supervise external legal counsel when required
Represent the legal function with governmental, regulatory, and industry authorities
Drive compliance with DSV policies, governance frameworks, risk management standards, laws, and regulations
Own legal reporting and governance matters for the BENLUKIE Cluster
Promote excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement, professional development, and succession planning within the legal team
Contribute to regional and global legal initiatives, projects, and transformation programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8–10 years of post-qualification, in-house legal experience in an international setting
Preferably experience within a global freight forwarding, transportation, and/or logistics organization
Professional familiarity with both common law and civil law legal systems
Substantive knowledge and expertise in transportation and logistics law, commercial and contract law and/or corporate law
Proven leadership experience, including a minimum of 2 years managing legal professionals within a large multinational corporate environment
Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach to team leadership and stakeholder engagement
Strong leadership presence, sound judgment, decisiveness, and ability to influence and drive outcomes effectively
Fluency in English at a professional legal level, written and spoken
Ideally, one or more languages spoken within the BENLUKIE Cluster, especially Dutch/Flemish
