About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the America Region Solution Design Team in achieving organic and new sales growth targets
- Lead development of innovative supply chain solutions for internal and external customers
- Lead multiple large-scale operational solutions design projects simultaneously
- Lead customer interface through solution design and implementation planning phases
- Analyze customer RFP information and data, identify gaps and develop assumptions
- Lead operational design, including data collection, facility layouts, process design, staffing, equipment specification, budgeting, pricing, documentation and proposal development
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of Solution Design responses
- Coordinate internal functional groups and stakeholders throughout proposal development
- Develop and lead internal and external customer presentations
- Support new business implementations and operational enhancements
- Establish timelines and task ownership in the RFP response process
- Develop innovative solution team tools and processes
- Monitor supply chain industry information, equipment innovations, technology and operational best practices
- Share industry information, design best practices and innovative ideas with the Solutions team
- Provide ongoing education, training and development for Senior Solutions Engineers and Solutions Engineers
- Potentially assume direct-report responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering
- 7+ years working in contract logistics warehousing and/or manufacturing support solutions design within the third-party logistics industry preferred; similar operational design and implementation experience outside third-party logistics is acceptable
- Solutions design and/or operations management experience in the Hi-Tech, Auto, Industrial, Healthcare, Retail and/or FMCG verticals
- Strong commercial acumen and direct experience developing varied pricing structures, including fixed/variable, fully variable and cost-plus
- Operations management and/or implementation management experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate with all organizational levels and build internal and external rapport and credibility
- Previous consulting company experience with a supply chain focus or third-party logistics industry experience is a plus
- Thorough understanding of warehouse operations, data mining/data analysis, P&L analysis, return calculations and pricing strategies
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, able to overcome problems quickly and effectively and work without detailed supervision
- Understanding of the company's competitive strengths and external market factors
- Fluent in English
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio skills required
- AutoCAD, MS Access, simulation software and/or network modeling software experience is a plus
- Must pass required government, airport or company background checks, clearances and/or drug and alcohol tests
- Willingness to travel 15% to 25%
