About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the main manager for the facility and business units
- Oversee day-to-day operations, business health, client relationships, and financial performance
- Develop systems and procedures to manage operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably
- Manage operations to meet productivity, service, SLA, KPI, quality, cost, revenue, and profit goals
- Drive continuous improvement and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Supervise warehouse operations supervisors and support staff
- Plan daily work schedules, assess priorities, and assign warehouse duties
- Plan warehouse-space reorganizations and staffing, supply, and equipment changes based on volume demands
- Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, training, professional development, evaluations, promotions, and wage increases
- Ensure effective training, SOP adherence, and new-hire performance assessment
- Conduct routine staff meetings and maintain team motivation and customer satisfaction
- Ensure proficiency in required information systems, including WMS, and oversee hardware and software purchases
- Manage customer service standards, client support, key-customer meetings, and supplier/customer site visits
- Support annual operating-budget development and manage controls for operational and financial performance
- Oversee sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, equipment, and material handling equipment programs
- Establish a proactive safety culture and audit warehouse compliance with safety, security, quality, and statutory requirements
- Own P&L and support business growth, EBIT, revenue growth, employee retention, operating margins, and quarterly/annual strategic planning
- Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated proficiency with applicable WMS systems
- English reading, writing, and verbal proficiency
- Proficiency in business communication at all levels
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and personnel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required
- Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
