About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee air and ocean import operations, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and efficiently
Lead a team of import specialists, providing coaching and mentoring
Build strong relationships with customers and other stakeholders
Ensure customer service is maintained at a high level
Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements
Manage import compliance and ensure regulations and requirements are met
Resolve issues and conflicts during the import process
Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure smooth operations
Supervise a team of import specialists

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of 5 years of experience in air import operations
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
Strong knowledge of air import regulations and requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
Experience in the transportation and logistics industry preferred
Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders preferred
Familiarity with import compliance software preferred
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software is required
Experience with import compliance software is a plus
