About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process customer orders accurately and promptly
  • Generate paperwork and information required for customer orders
  • Check orders for special requests and shipping paperwork
  • Coordinate and expedite special or last-minute shipping requests with operations
  • Prioritize orders according to scheduled pickup times or pier cutoff
  • Provide shipping and tracking information
  • Respond to customer inquiries about receipts, shipments, and inventory counts
  • Report customer feedback and signs of dissatisfaction to management
  • Oversee order paperwork and maintain corresponding files
  • Maintain the DSV Work Instructions Manual
  • Answer phone calls and operate office machines and computers
  • Enter and verify data for orders, shipments, receipts, and adjustments
  • Ensure shipping and receiving documents are accurate
  • Maintain shipping and receiving records
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies
  • Collect inbound freight documentation and route it to the proper record-keeping unit
  • Comply with DSV Work Instructions
  • Provide backup support for other clerical positions as directed by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School education
  • General office experience, including telephone techniques and computer skills in a customer service environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Skills in operating office machinery
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • General mathematical skills
  • General office knowledge
  • Microsoft Office experience recommended
  • Customer service skills preferred
  • Communication skills preferred
  • Ability to perform physical activities including fingering, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
  • Ability to use computer and telephone equipment
  • Close and distance vision
  • No certificates, licenses, registrations, or professional designations required
