About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise labor management and daily inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
  • Plan labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
  • Hire, train, assign, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff
  • Conduct staff meetings and review daily and weekly work activities
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
  • Develop and implement safe, profitable, and policy-compliant operational systems and procedures
  • Manage operations to meet productivity, service, quality, KPI, and cost objectives
  • Implement and report cost-saving measures
  • Provide direction and support to Human Resources
  • Assist with hiring, training, professional development, promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities
  • Plan daily work schedules using work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions
  • Assign warehouse duties and adjust staffing, equipment, supplies, and warehouse space as needed
  • Train new staff and assess trainee progress
  • Monitor job quantity and quality, providing guidance and advice
  • Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members and monitor progress
  • Advise the Manager of daily progress and problems
  • Assist in physical operations as needed
  • Support team motivation, development, performance reviews, and customer satisfaction
  • Support and train team members on corporate and client SOPs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3 years’ experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Knowledge of WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related warehouse duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational, personnel, communication, leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures
  • Preferred: prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation
