Supervisor, 2nd Shift
DSV - Global Transport and Logistics. Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
- Manage labor, scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower
- Supervise receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations under the Operations or Distribution Center Manager
- Conduct staff meetings and support continuous improvement
- Inform senior management and client representatives about critical operational issues
- Develop systems and procedures for safe, profitable, and policy-compliant operations
- Manage productivity, service goals, client KPIs, and quality requirements
- Implement and report cost-saving measures
- Hire, train, supervise, counsel, and evaluate warehouse staff
- Plan daily work based on work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and resources
- Assign duties and supervisory responsibilities to warehouse staff and team leads
- Monitor job quality, quantity, progress, and operational problems
- Plan warehouse space, supply, equipment, and staffing changes
- Train new staff and assess trainee progress
- Keep the Manager informed of daily progress and problems
- Assist with physical operations as needed
- Provide team development opportunities and conduct or contribute to annual performance reviews
- Support and train team members on corporate and client SOPs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with RF scanners
- Knowledge of WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Business communication skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and personnel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work overtime as dictated by business needs
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
- Preferred: prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation
- Ability to participate in cross-training activities and adapt to a fast-paced work environment
