Supervisor
DSV - Global Transport and Logistics. Supervise labor management and plan inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise labor management and plan inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities
- Schedule labor and manage space utilization, equipment, and manpower
- Hire and train staff; plan and assign daily work
- Conduct performance appraisals, address performance issues, and resolve problems
- Supervise receiving, warehousing, and shipping in line with service and cost objectives
- Conduct staff meetings and support continuous improvement
- Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues
- Develop systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations
- Manage operations to meet productivity, service, client KPI, and quality requirements
- Implement and report cost-saving measures
- Provide direction and support to Human Resources
- Assist with hiring, training, professional development, promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities
- Train and evaluate warehouse staff
- Plan daily work using work orders, arrival notices, customer instructions, priorities, and available resources
- Assign duties and supervisory responsibilities to warehouse staff and team leads
- Review pending jobs and plan warehouse space, supply, equipment, and staffing changes
- Monitor work quality and quantity, providing guidance and advice
- Keep the Manager informed of progress and problems
- Assist in physical operations as needed
- Support and train team members in adherence to corporate and client SOPs
- Maintain team motivation, customer satisfaction, and team growth and development
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with RF scanners
- Knowledge of WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling, storing, and distributing products
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and personnel skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work overtime as dictated by the business
- Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures
