About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead warehouse operations, multiple shifts, or larger teams
  • Provide advanced operational oversight and people leadership
  • Act as a key operational partner to the Operations Manager and backup during their absence
  • Manage labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment, and manpower to meet operational, service, safety, and cost objectives
  • Conduct staff meetings to review work activities, plan workload, and support continuous improvement
  • Keep management and client representatives informed of operational issues affecting service, safety, or cost
  • Coach, mentor, and guide Supervisors and lead team members
  • Support operational planning, staffing strategies, and workload forecasting
  • Identify operational risks, trends, and improvement opportunities and develop action plans
  • Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, safety standards, and quality requirements
  • Drive productivity, service, safety, and financial KPIs
  • Support cost control initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for complex employee relations, performance, or operational issues
  • Participate in workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development
  • Support implementation of new processes, systems, or client requirements
  • Communicate operational performance and risks to senior leadership and client representatives
  • Review operational data and metrics to guide decisions
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans
  • Assist in physical operations as needed to ensure service continuity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex operations, multiple teams, or shifts
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with RF scanners
  • Experience with WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying product quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organizational and personnel skills
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required
  • Ability to work overtime as dictated by business needs
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate
  • Ability to adapt effectively to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
