About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain perpetual inventory record integrity and inventory accuracy
  • Administer the cycle count program and analyze and resolve discrepancies
  • Oversee inventory associates and other department staff
  • Implement and monitor space utilization and layout plans
  • Implement and maintain an effective product locator system
  • Delegate work and responsibilities to subordinates
  • Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate inventory staff performance
  • Audit daily error reports and make corrections
  • Analyze and publish monthly and year-to-date cycle count variance data from WMS reports
  • Validate stock change-in/out transactions against product structures
  • Analyze miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action
  • Serve as distribution leader for physical inventory
  • Research inventory issues using the online Inventory Audit Trail
  • Prepare monthly reports on major problems and project updates
  • Assist with associate relations and training
  • Audit the warehouse for safety, security, and quality compliance
  • Communicate with DSV representatives and clients as required
  • Write corrective/preventive actions, operational reports, counseling memos, and evaluations
  • Conduct daily startup meetings and encourage feedback, teamwork, and associate development
  • Coordinate operations with management to complete daily objectives
  • Report internal and external operational issues
  • Provide management with labor and equipment needs information
  • Develop team leaders and ensure associate expectations are met
  • Ensure training and development regarding product placement and equipment usage
  • Perform other duties and assist management as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Basic computer skills and MS Office Applications
  • RF Scanners
  • WMS Functions
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Satisfactory completion of forklift training program
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good supervisory and people skills
  • Ability to develop work instructions, procedures, and visual aids
  • Ability to work extra hours as dictated by business needs
  • Training and/or certification in inventory management methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Analytical and results-oriented
  • Ability to foster continuous improvement
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 21–50 pounds
  • Ability to wear PPE and follow safety standards
