Team Lead
DSV - Global Transport and Logistics. Coordinate and supervise daily warehouse, receiving, shipping, picking, and quality-control activities .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and supervise daily warehouse, receiving, shipping, picking, and quality-control activities
- Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Supervise unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, and picking and staging outbound shipments
- Verify inbound and outbound paperwork, product counts, doors, and trailers
- Load orders efficiently and accurately
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Communicate professionally with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
- Verify products and orders meet quality standards; report damages and discrepancies
- Stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Participate in quality and safety meetings
- Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness and security
- Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll records
- Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure effective job assignments and completion
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
- Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
- Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Basic computer skills
- RF scanner proficiency
- WMS functions knowledge
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling, storing, and distributing products
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
- Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs using proper lifting procedures
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Preferred: 2–4 years of warehouse/logistics/distribution experience
- Preferred: 2–4 years of forklift experience
- Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
