About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities under the direction of the Operations Supervisor
- Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, shipping, picking, and quality control
- Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Coordinate unloading, stacking, picking, staging, loading, and shipment documentation
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
- Verify product and order quality, report damages or discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Participate in quality, safety, and department meetings
- Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness and security
- Direct warehouse work-team operations, assist with productivity and payroll-hour records, and help maintain staffing levels
- Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure assignments are completed properly
- Initiate and recommend corrective solutions for product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
- Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts and other equipment
- Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
Requirements
What you’ll need- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Willingness to work overtime, whether mandatory or voluntary
- Active forklift certification must be maintained
- Compliance with relevant ISO standards
- Compliance with OSHA/MSDS standards
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, and safety rules
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and report equipment problems
- Ability to maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
- Ability to accurately complete production, payroll, activity, and shipping/receiving documentation
