About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities under the direction of the Operations Supervisor
  • Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping operations
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate inbound unloading, product stacking, outbound picking and staging, and order loading
  • Verify shipping and receiving paperwork and product counts
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate professionally with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare activity reports for site management
  • Perform quality control, including verifying orders, reporting damage or discrepancies, and stacking, packaging, shrink-wrapping, and labeling products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager and participate in quality meetings
  • Execute safety protocols, maintain warehouse cleanliness, and participate in safety meetings
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations, assist with productivity and payroll records, participate in work scheduling, and ensure jobs are effectively assigned and completed
  • Participate in department meetings and initiate or recommend solutions for product, process, and quality non-conformities
  • Operate, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on material-handling equipment
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures, ranging from mild to moderate during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Must maintain an active forklift certification
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary
  • Comply with relevant ISO standards, OSHA/MSDS standards, Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, and safety rules
