About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operational activities under the Operations Supervisor
  • Oversee associates handling warehousing, receiving, shipping, picking, and quality control
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate unloading, stacking, picking, staging, loading, and shipment paperwork
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
  • Verify product and order quality, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality, safety, and department meetings
  • Execute safety protocols, maintain warehouse cleanliness, and comply with SOPs, corporate policies, OSHA, and MSDS standards
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations, assist with productivity and payroll-hour records, and help maintain staffing levels
  • Participate in work-schedule planning and ensure effective job assignment and completion
  • Identify and report non-conformities and recommend solutions through designated channels
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate material-handling equipment (MHE)
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF scanner skills
  • WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all organizational levels
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds; reach, squat, kneel, bend, walk, and stand
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
