About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operational activities under the Operations Supervisor
  • Oversee associates handling warehousing, receiving, and shipping activities
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, picking and staging outbound shipments
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork and product counts
  • Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
  • Perform quality control checks, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality, safety, and department meetings
  • Execute safety protocols and maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderliness, and security
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations, assist with productivity and payroll-hour records, and support workforce planning
  • Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure assignments are completed properly
  • Initiate and recommend solutions for product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
  • Able to operate MHE
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF Scanners
  • WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling, storing, and distributing products
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
  • Preferred: Current or prior MHE certification
