About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and oversee assigned daily warehouse operational activities under the Operations Supervisor
  • Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping to meet service and cost objectives
  • Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with forklift operation and certification
  • Coordinate inbound unloading, product stacking, outbound picking and staging, and order loading
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork and product counts
  • Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
  • Communicate professionally with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
  • Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
  • Perform quality control checks, verify product/order quality, and report damages or discrepancies
  • Stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
  • Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Participate in quality and safety meetings
  • Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and Standard Operating Procedure requirements
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and secure warehouse and work area
  • Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
  • Assist with staffing levels and establish and implement work schedules
  • Ensure jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly
  • Participate in department meetings and address non-conformities through designated channels
  • Operate, inspect, and perform minor maintenance on material-handling equipment
  • Maintain active forklift certification and report equipment problems
  • Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
  • Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Basic computer skills
  • RF scanner skills
  • WMS functions knowledge
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all organizational levels
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
  • Ability to walk and stand constantly; bend frequently; and reach, squat, or kneel
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ warehouse/logistics/distribution experience
  • Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
  • Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
