About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enter computer data for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance
- Assist the supervisor/manager in ensuring facility compliance with quality standards
- Oversee inventory associates and other staff functions
- Delegate work and responsibility to subordinates
- Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate inventory staff performance
- Analyze daily and directed cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and perpetual records
- Audit daily error reports and make corrections
- Generate monthly and year-to-date cycle count dollar variance data from WMS reports
- Analyze material in/out transactions for validity against product structure
- Report miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action
- Serve as distribution leader for physical inventory
- Research inventory issues using the online Inventory Audit Trail
- Prepare monthly reports on major problems and project or assignment updates
- Assist with associate relations, training, startup meetings, and team development
- Audit the warehouse for safety, security, and quality compliance
- Communicate with DSV representatives and clients; write corrective/preventive actions, reports, counseling memos, and evaluations
- Coordinate operations with the manager to complete daily objectives and report operational issues
- Provide management with labor and equipment needs information
- Develop team leaders and ensure associate expectations are met
- Assist leadership as needed and participate in cross-training activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Basic computer skills
- RF Scanners
- WMS functions
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and handling, storing, and distributing products
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
- Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
- Ability to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds
- Preferred: 1–3 years’ experience working in an inventory department
- Preferred: 1–3 years forklift experience
