About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate shift training on safety, operations, quality, standard updates, and procedure updates
  • Implement on-the-job training programs to improve site performance
  • Conduct and supervise employee training and development programs
  • Plan and deliver on-the-job training courses in consultation with department heads
  • Enter all training information into the training matrix
  • Ensure site safety and training programs meet regulatory, DSV, and client requirements
  • Keep site programs audit-ready for ISO client and DSV 5-Star requirements
  • Arrange maintenance of equipment and materials used for training delivery and measurement
  • Manage equipment operator training, certifications, documentation, and record keeping
  • Evaluate associate skill levels, identify gaps, and provide retraining
  • Ensure staffing changes are reflected in databases and training files
  • Communicate all information to the manager
  • Adapt scheduling, including changes to workdays and hours, for training purposes
  • Coordinate and deliver new-hire orientation training
  • Communicate problems and questions to site leadership and implement solutions to minimize risk
  • Follow safety procedures, DSV policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Work overtime as dictated by the business
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have a high school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisor experience working in training and/or warehousing
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies and plans
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
  • Preferred: Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation
  • Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with RF scanners
  • Knowledge of WMS functions
  • English reading, writing, and verbal skills
  • Business communication skills
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying product quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and personnel skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
  • Able to participate in cross-training metrics activities and assist as a backup across multiple departments
  • Must effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment
