About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities for the assigned warehouse area
- Oversee associates responsible for warehousing, receiving, and shipping
- Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Coordinate unloading, stacking, picking, staging, loading, and shipping/receiving paperwork
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Communicate with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
- Verify product and order quality, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Participate in quality, safety, and department meetings
- Execute safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly, and secure warehouse
- Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity, payroll-hour, staffing, and scheduling activities
- Initiate, record, and escalate non-conformities and recommend solutions through designated channels
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of and compliance with relevant ISO standards
- Compliance with OSHA/MSDS standards
- Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, and safety rules
- Ability to coordinate warehousing, receiving, shipping, picking, staging, quality control, and forklift-related activities
- Ability to train and mentor associates in distribution activities and SOPs
- Ability to prepare accurate activity reports
- Ability to identify, document, and escalate product, process, and quality-system non-conformities
- Ability to work under the direction of the Operations Supervisor
- Ability to support productivity, payroll-hour capture, staffing, scheduling, and quality procedures
