About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and oversee daily operational activities under the direction of the Operations Supervisor
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Oversee unloading inbound shipments, stacking products, picking and staging outbound shipments
- Verify inbound and outbound paperwork and product counts
- Load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Prepare activity reports for site management
- Verify product and order quality, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Direct warehouse work teams, assist with productivity and payroll-hour records, participate in scheduling, and ensure effective job assignment
- Execute safety protocols, maintain warehouse cleanliness, and participate in safety and quality meetings
- Initiate and report corrective actions for product, process, and quality-system non-conformities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of and compliance with relevant ISO standards
- Compliance with OSHA/MSDS standards
- Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, and safety rules
- Ability to operate and assist with forklift operation and certification
- Ability to oversee warehousing, receiving, shipping, picking, staging, packaging, labeling, and quality control activities
- Ability to prepare accurate activity reports
- Ability to direct warehouse work teams and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
- Ability to participate in work scheduling and ensure effective job assignment and completion
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person
