About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operational activities under the Operations Supervisor
- Oversee associates handling warehousing, receiving, and shipping activities
- Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist with forklift operation and certification
- Coordinate inbound unloading, product stacking, outbound picking, and staging
- Verify inbound and outbound paperwork, product counts, doors, and trailers
- Load orders efficiently and accurately
- Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
- Communicate with customers by telephone, electronically, or in person
- Prepare accurate activity reports for site management
- Perform quality control checks, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
- Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Participate in quality and safety meetings
- Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and SOP requirements
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, security, and orderly work areas
- Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour tracking
- Participate in work-schedule establishment and ensure assignments are completed properly
- Identify non-conformities and initiate or recommend solutions through designated channels
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, Aisle Masters, and pallet jacks
- Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment
- Able to operate MHE
- Must be able to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
- Basic computer skills
- RF Scanners
- WMS functions
- English reading, writing, and verbal skills
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, and related duties
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization
- Must be able to adapt to change and work in a stimulating, fast-paced environment
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Willing to work mandatory or voluntary overtime as dictated by business
- Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
- Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
- Preferred: Current or prior MHE certification
