About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee a section of the warehouse and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Support the management team in achieving business targets.
- Lead a team of operatives, coordinating workloads and monitoring performance.
- Maintain high standards of quality and productivity.
- Manage and motivate the team to meet KPIs and deadlines.
- Train new operatives and support ongoing development.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock movement records.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and foster safe working practices.
- Produce reports, assist with stock takes, and plan future capacity needs.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, and transport partners, ensuring excellent communication and service delivery.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in a warehouse leadership role.
- Strong people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop others.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Proactive approach and confidence in decision making.
- Good IT knowledge, including spreadsheets and warehouse systems.
- Solid understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of lean techniques would be an advantage.
- Successful candidates must undergo necessary right-to-work checks.
- Certain sites require 5-years’ worth of referencing and criminal record checks.
