About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide application and production support for live customer environments
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve incidents, defects, and performance issues across the global customer base
Own issues from first report through resolution, including root-cause analysis, fixes, stakeholder communication, and prevention steps
Configure, integrate, and extend the platform for customer implementation projects
Work with Delivery, Product, core Engineering, and customer stakeholders to create maintainable solutions
Feed recurring issues and product gaps back to the product team
Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging
Maintain reliable and performant services
Improve engineering and delivery capabilities through CI/CD and deployment automation
Contribute to architectural decisions that improve platform scalability and performance

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 5 years of professional Java engineering experience
Strong experience developing backend web applications
Proficiency with Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA, and Hibernate
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
Knowledge of microservices architecture and software engineering best practices
Experience with unit and integration testing
Ability to maintain high code quality
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a distributed team
Experience with AWS, Apache Camel, Docker, Kubernetes, or other relevant cloud and DevOps technologies is beneficial
Experience in the insurance industry or working with insurance-related software is beneficial
Must reside within reasonable proximity to Mumbai or Bengaluru, India
