About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the sales function for professional services, setting revenue targets and driving execution to achieve and exceed goals
  • Define service offerings and manage a team selling to new and existing customers
  • Work with Services leadership to articulate high-value offerings for the P&C market
  • Generate and grow a healthy pipeline through service offerings and customer-facing channels
  • Collaborate with sales operations on reporting for services sales targets
  • Provide leadership and direction for solution architecture teams, including workforce planning, performance management, coaching, career development, and readiness
  • Evolve the solution architecture team toward world-class performance in prospect and customer engagements and delivery of high-value solutions
  • Establish and maintain solution architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices aligned with Duck Creek products, cloud platforms, and integration patterns
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Sales, and Alliances on architectural alignment from pre-sales through delivery and lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to define joint solution patterns and consistent architectural approaches
  • Support sales and account teams with executive-level technical and solution leadership for strategic opportunities
  • Represent solution architecture perspectives in leadership forums and cross-functional planning, including services strategy and go-to-market planning
  • Ensure solution architectures articulate the value, differentiation, and outcomes of Duck Creek professional and partner-delivered services
  • Guide teams in developing repeatable solution and services patterns for scalable selling and delivery models

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in P&C insurance enterprise services sales and architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience designing and governing large-scale, enterprise, cloud-based software solutions
  • Experience within the insurance or financial services software domain
  • Experience working in a global insurance software sales organization
  • Formal architecture or cloud certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or equivalent)
  • Deep understanding of selling methodologies, tooling and processes
  • Deep expertise in insurance P&C enterprise solution architecture and distributed systems design
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, SaaS platforms, and integration technologies
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop senior technical professionals
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into architectural direction
  • Strong governance mindset balanced with pragmatism and delivery focus
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to influence without direct authority across functions and geographies
  • Sound judgment in assessing architectural trade-offs, risks, and impacts
