About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide and document direct nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
  • Follow physician orders and the nursing plan of care
  • Report patient responses to a registered nurse for evaluation, intervention, and plan-of-care modification
  • Assist other healthcare personnel in delivering patient care
  • Assist physicians and nursing personnel with diagnostic procedures
  • Evaluate nursing care, patient responses, and nursing priorities
  • Assist with developing and implementing policies and procedures for patient comfort and safety
  • Maintain the care environment, equipment, and material resources
  • Identify clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and participate in improvement activities
  • Assist with material-resource control and equipment effectiveness appraisal; report malfunctions
  • Participate in in-service education programs and service conferences
  • Assist in training new employees
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduation from an Accredited Practical Nurse Program
  • Current State of North Carolina or Compact Licensure is required
  • Nurses with a multi state compact license must obtain NC state licensure within the first 90 days of employment
  • BLS certification is required
  • No experience required
