About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and coordinate patient care and personnel needs in a DUHS clinic
- Manage multi-specialty nursing services within the specified clinic
- Manage the clinic in the absence of the HealthCare Administrator/Practice Manager
- Be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility or staff
- Develop and implement processes to enhance clinic operations and ongoing quality improvement
- Identify clinical operational needs and manage equipment, supplies, and maintenance
- Assess the environment and recommend measures for patient comfort, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Develop, document, implement, and monitor written policies and procedures
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate ambulatory healthcare services, programs, and activities
- Collaborate on fiscal requirements and submit budget recommendations for nursing personnel and patient-care materials
- Manage hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions, and scheduling
- Counsel and formally discipline clinical staff as needed
- Develop and expand learning opportunities and skill development for clinical staff
- Collaborate with ambulatory nursing colleagues to optimize nursing-resource utilization
- Analyze, develop, and maintain an effective nursing care delivery system reflecting patient and family needs
- Promote education for patients, families, and the community
- Participate in direct patient care for role modeling or information gathering
- Cultivate exemplary customer service and promote communication, problem-solving, feedback, active listening, and conflict resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required
- Master's degree in Nursing strongly preferred
- Three years of nursing experience is required
- Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina
- BCLS certification required
- Nurses hired into leadership positions must obtain a leadership certification within three months of hire
- New nurse leaders ineligible to sit for an exam due to insufficient leadership-role experience must complete certification within three months of becoming eligible
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements including the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act
- Clinical quality management and service management skills
- Planning, prioritization, problem solving, innovation, financial savvy, active listening, effective communication, talent recruitment and development, team building, conflict management, motivation, and influencing skills
