About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation activities
  • Review next-day patients and complete preparation activities
  • Enter pre-visit orders and prepare new patient charts
  • Manage patient records, charts, reports, forms, and medical documentation
  • Check patients in and out of the practice
  • Identify and verify patient information in Maestro Care
  • Verify and update patient demographic data
  • Present required forms, educate patients, and obtain signatures
  • Collect and post co-payments and account balances
  • Manage insurance cards, encounter forms, charge posting, and cash collections
  • Coordinate labs, procedures, ancillary services, referrals, and appointment scheduling
  • Explain billing and determine cash amounts based on insurance plans
  • Schedule return appointments, tests, and procedures
  • Answer telephone calls and accurately distribute messages and medical information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school education or equivalent knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles
  • Minimum of one year of work experience directly communicating with and providing service to patients or the public
  • Experience preferably in a healthcare-related field
  • Experience effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Basic PC and data entry skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to provide oral and written instructions
  • Ability to interact tactfully with customers
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others
  • Ability to apply departmental policies, rules, and regulations related to verifying patient information, collecting payments, and maintaining records and forms
