About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide high-quality support to physicians in meeting patients’ medical needs
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms and prepare them for physicians
  • Take vital signs and record medical histories and symptoms
  • Ensure medical charts and laboratory results are available and complete
  • Perform telephone triage and patient education
  • Handle physician and pharmacy calls
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and arranging hospital tests or admissions
  • Administer immunizations and minor treatments as prescribed
  • Record and document treatments in patient charts
  • Assist physicians with procedures
  • Clean and stock examination rooms
  • Clean and prepare instruments for procedures and maintain medical supply lists
  • Complete paperwork including lab test, x-ray, school/work note, and related requests
  • Clean and sterilize equipment and check and restock medication cabinets
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns as a liaison between physician and patient
  • Report test results to patients as directed by physicians
  • Perform OSHA controls and assist with narcotic counts
  • Perform projects and other duties related to department objectives
  • Utilize current nursing practices to provide patient-centered care and function as a patient advocate
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current IL RN licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a clinical or hospital setting, but may consider new grad under specific circumstances
  • Hours are Monday–Friday, roughly 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with some flexibility
  • Must be able to work in Westmont, Tinley Park, or Joliet based on clinic needs
  • Must be able to travel to Westmont for training
  • Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism from a supervisor, and follow work rules
