About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide patient care, support, and guidance
- Execute plans of care under the guidance of PT/OT providers
- Set up and adjust exercise equipment
- Assist with setup and delivery of modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and hot/cold packs
- Use educational techniques, demonstration, and cueing to ensure patient understanding of exercises
- Monitor patient safety and response to exercise intensity
- Discuss patient performance with PT/OT providers
- Monitor patient arrivals and maintain clinic flow
- Start patients on time and keep patients informed of clinician delays
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, waiting areas, exam rooms, and equipment
- Order supplies under the direction of the Manager
- Perform front-end tasks including check-in, copay/financial responsibility collection, answering phones, and scheduling appointments
- Communicate with the PT/OT and Chiropractic referral team regarding patient insurance benefits
- Manage clinician schedules, including confirmation calls and rescheduling
Requirements
What you’ll need- CPR certification required (certification offered through Duly Health and Care)
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of common medical terminology and abbreviations
- Understanding of principles, contraindications, and precautions in the use of therapy modalities
- Ability to identify proper patient set-up on each piece of equipment and adjust it
- Ability to identify planes of movement and demonstrate proper exercise positioning
- Team-oriented
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Problem solving, lateral thinking, and reasoning skills
- Communication skills
