About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic body radiographs (x-rays) as directed by a Radiologist.
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
  • Move x-ray equipment and adjust exposure controls.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques for patients and staff.
  • Obtain patients’ pertinent history.
  • Maintain the crash cart.
  • Maintain and stock inventory.
  • Maintain OSHA regulations.
  • Perform other projects and duties related to department objectives.
  • Report to the lead technologist for work assignments.
  • Assist with film quality control.
  • Operate the department during evenings and holidays.
  • Assist and relieve the manager by expediting patient workflow.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be AART registered or eligible.
  • Must be IDNS licensed.
  • CPR certification.
  • 6 months - 2 years related experience highly preferred but not required.
  • Required to work evening and holidays.
  • Holidays and travel as needed.
  • Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism from your supervisor, and follow work rules.
