About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs (x-rays) as directed by a Radiologist
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation
  • Move x-ray equipment and adjust exposure controls
  • Practice radiation protection techniques for patients and staff
  • Obtain patients’ pertinent history
  • Maintain the crash cart
  • Maintain and stock inventory
  • Maintain OSHA regulations
  • Perform projects and duties related to department objectives
  • Report to the lead technologist for work assignments
  • Assist with film quality control
  • Work evenings and holidays with responsibility for department operation
  • Assist and relieve the manager in expediting patient workflow

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six month to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be AART registered or eligible
  • Must be IDNS licensed
  • CPR certification
  • 6 months to 2 years related experience
  • Must be able to work evenings and holidays
  • Must be able to travel as needed
  • Ability to get along with others, be a team player, accept constructive criticism, and follow work rules
