About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs (x-rays) as directed by a Radiologist
- Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain requested views
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation
- Move and adjust x-ray equipment and set exposure factors
- Practice radiation protection techniques for patients and staff
- Obtain patients’ pertinent history
- Maintain the crash cart
- Maintain and stock inventory
- Maintain OSHA regulations
- Perform projects and duties related to department objectives
- Report to the lead technologist for work assignments
- Assist with film quality control
- Operate the department during evening and holiday coverage
- Assist and relieve the manager while expediting patient workflow
- Rotate shifts between Lisle MOB and Lombard x-ray locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be AART registered or eligible
- Must be IDNS licensed
- CPR certification
- 6 months to 2 years related experience
- Ability to work evening shifts and holidays
- Holidays and travel required
- Ability to follow radiation protection techniques and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively, accept constructive criticism, and follow work rules
