About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own Maintenance and Reliability and associated processes for the Yerkes Site in Tonawanda, NY
- Lead the facility maintenance strategy and implement and execute Maintenance Work Management Processes
- Manage functional and administrative goals and establish and work within budget expectations
- Develop future talent and provide functional direction to maintenance activity coordinators, planners, schedulers, coordinators, and maintenance and reliability engineers
- Lead proactive maintenance objectives and shared asset management
- Deliver safety, reliability, and maintenance cost optimization results
- Ensure maintenance standard work supports MRO improvement, PM optimization, and strategic planning
- Lead preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs, asset health management, equipment maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support ultrasound, infrared, and vibration programs
- Oversee reliability performance, maintenance effectiveness, metrics, reviews, deep drills, and improvement plans
- Implement and align the Maintain Facility Work Process with business needs
- Ensure maintenance procedures include hazard assessments and safety, health, and environmental control measures
- Manage maintenance staffing, resourcing for capital and improvement projects, employee development, deployment, and compensation within the span of control
- Develop Maintenance Engineers for future project, technical, and leadership roles
- Analyze and audit work process results and maintain unit reliability metrics
- Coordinate teams and resources for significant opportunities
- Drive Management of Change for value-added improvements
- Measure individual performance against work-process expectations and technology utilization
- Optimize interfaces with other work processes and participate in maintenance leadership teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS engineering discipline or equivalent experience required
- 7-10 years of manufacturing or related experience required
- Prior maintenance experience with a large multi-business campus or large maintenance team required
- Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process) experience required
- Prior experience working with a union workforce, preferred
- CMRP or CRL qualifications, preferred
- Technical understanding of all unit operational processes
- Knowledge of appropriate standards, protocols, and systems
- Microsoft Office knowledge and skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Functional understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS); SAP preferred
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Effective risk management and mitigation skills
- Verbal and written communication, planning, and organizing skills
- Organization and time management skills, including prioritization, scheduling, and workforce/resource optimization
- Root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Safety, Quality & Environmental auditing skills
- Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Proven understanding of Unit Maintenance Work Management Processes
