About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and carry out sourcing strategies aligned with project scope, schedule and budget
  • Engage early in project lifecycles to shape procurement and contracting decisions
  • Assign projects to other buyers based on buy type and team workload
  • Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, technical and commercial bid evaluations, and awards
  • Structure and negotiate lump-sum, reimbursable, unit-rate and hybrid contracts
  • Negotiate pricing, payment milestones, warranties, liquidated damages, retention and performance guarantees
  • Drive cost savings, cost avoidance and value engineering
  • Manage currency, escalation and commodity-linked pricing on long-duration contracts
  • Qualify, evaluate and manage OEMs, fabricators, EPC contractors and engineering firms
  • Monitor supplier performance through expediting, inspection and progress monitoring until delivery
  • Identify and reduce schedule, quality, financial and single-source risks
  • Ensure compliance with capital approval (AFE) processes, delegation of authority, safety rules and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Business, Legal, Finance and Operations
  • Prepare executive-ready updates on capital commitments, savings, cash flow and procurement risk using Power BI and Excel
  • Support project audits, cost forecasting and closeout

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of procurement experience
  • Hands-on experience with complex RFx processes, market analysis and creating business value
  • Track record of developing, implementing and managing complex contracts
  • Advanced negotiation skills and strong commercial judgment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence people without direct authority
  • Ability to manage several priorities in a fast-moving project environment
  • High ethical standards
  • CPSM and/or PMP certification preferred
