About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow Opportunity@Work's philanthropic revenue by building relationships with institutional funders capable of investing $500K or more
- Own a portfolio of current and prospective private and corporate foundations, moving each from cultivation to close
- Partner with the Vice President and other executives on top-tier asks
- Secure and/or enhance multi-year anchor partnerships sustaining major bodies of work
- Represent Opportunity@Work with funders and philanthropic leaders
- Translate organizational priorities into compelling investment opportunities
- Lead funder meetings and solicitations aligned with funder goals
- Design and execute stewardship strategies to retain funders and grow investments
- Identify and qualify new prospects using workforce and philanthropic trends
- Build and activate a network of philanthropic champions
- Represent the organization at conferences, convenings, and events
- Partner with the Executive Office on CEO funder relationships, briefings, and follow-up plans
- Work with Revenue Operations to maintain accurate Salesforce data and shape funder strategy
- Partner with Resource Mobilization on proposals, presentations, and reports
- Liaise with Marketing, External Affairs, Programs, Finance, and other teams so funding asks reflect organizational priorities
- Serve as a role model supporting a collaborative, fun, and results-oriented culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, including closing multiple $500K+ gifts from foundations or corporations
- Natural relationship-builder who can command a room and inspire confidence in funders and partners
- Strategic thinker who can structure fundraising problems, use data, and propose solutions to hit revenue targets
- Excellent collaboration skills and track record of aligning senior leaders and cross-functional teams around shared fundraising goals
- Exceptional writing and speaking skills
- Highly organized, with ability to manage multiple funder relationships and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM to track engagement and pipeline
- Comfort and experience using AI tools
- Familiarity with workforce development, economic mobility, or systems-change philanthropy is a plus
