About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Director of Real Estate Development and Project Managers on new construction and rehabilitation transactions
  • Process, track, and follow up on documents and letters
  • Coordinate with internal staff and manage relevant consultants
  • Manage acquisition, construction, and permanent loan closing due diligence
  • Review internal documents and coordinate design teams
  • Submit plans to municipalities and consultants and obtain plan-check clearances
  • Manage departmental checklists
  • Assist with predevelopment budgets, decision memos, board presentations, and invoice processing
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project files
  • Assemble applications for housing funders and financing programs
  • Maintain updated standard EAH documents and application forms
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit funding draws
  • Conduct community asset and needs research and identify key stakeholders
  • Prepare materials for public meetings
  • Perform site due diligence, including title review, infrastructure evaluation, comparable sales analysis, site visits, and entitlement assessments
  • Create and analyze preliminary financial projections and comprehensive deal analysis packages
  • Assess acquisition risks for supervisor and Executive Team review
  • Identify, evaluate, and monitor funding sources and analyze funding competition
  • Submit land-use applications and attend hearings and neighborhood meetings
  • Create and manage proposals for land and funding opportunities
  • Participate in EAH’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan
  • Maintain relationships with public and private lenders and grant sources
  • Create presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Represent EAH at industry conferences and seminars
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Some related work or field work experience in affordable housing development, such as residential architecture, finance, planning, or construction
  • Valid California Driver’s license required
  • Access to reliable transportation required
  • Experience working at an affordable housing development company in California preferred
  • Experience with California LIHTC transactions preferred
  • Familiarity with California Housing and Community Development (HCD) programs preferred
  • Minimum of one successful LIHTC financial construction closing preferred
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background check and fingerprinting requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of drug testing
  • Education and employment history verification
