About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive use and availability of the information security tool set
  • Maintain vulnerability management and configuration management baselines
  • Ensure custom software is secure and documentation is complete and accurate
  • Evaluate new and existing security tools to drive continuous improvement
  • Upgrade and patch application software and operating systems
  • Track and replace certificates and remediate equipment vulnerabilities
  • Integrate security tools with corporate infrastructure in partnership with operations staff
  • Work with auditors to support compliance efforts
  • Define toolset gaps and research solutions
  • Monitor tool health and initiate maintenance or remediation
  • Ensure tools run vendor-supported versions, including operating systems and supporting applications
  • Complete compliance documentation and address gaps
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities for repeatable processes
  • Assist security teams with incident resolution and risk assessments
  • Maximize value from purchased tools
  • Contribute to security policies and procedures
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Cross-train with security engineering staff
  • Mentor junior security engineering staff and manage security interns
  • Protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-year degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent education/experience pathway
  • Minimum 5 years of general IT experience
  • Minimum 3 years of IT Security experience
  • Experience or certifications with enterprise vulnerability scanning platforms and vulnerability management frameworks
  • Experience or certifications with enterprise endpoint security tools, antivirus, or DLP
  • Expert understanding of Linux and Windows administration
  • Proficiency in Python scripting
  • Expert understanding of networking concepts including routing, Layer 2, Layer 3, and NAT
  • Expert understanding of enterprise firewall ruleset design and packet capture interpretation
  • Proficiency in SSL/TLS certificate management, certificate chains, and request/issue/renew procedures
  • Ability to work in a normal office environment and perform sedentary computer-based work
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible force frequently
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States for any employer at the date of hire
  • Position is ineligible for employment visa sponsorship
