About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a dedicated Adult Social Care team
  • Support adults with complex needs, individuals experiencing homelessness, and people affected by domestic abuse
  • Build and maintain partnerships with health services, housing providers, voluntary sector organisations, police, and other stakeholders
  • Drive excellent outcomes and ensure vulnerable adults receive high-quality, person-centred support promoting independence, safety, and wellbeing
  • Develop a new service with support from the Practice Manager and other partners
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, inclusion, innovation, and professional development
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and performance of a multidisciplinary team
  • Manage budgetary performance of a designated service unit within the Departmental scheme of delegation
  • Manage service performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
  • Manage people and oversee formal personnel-related policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Attend interviews in person

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Registered with a professional body, e.g. SWE
  • Significant management experience within a relevant field
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs, homelessness, domestic abuse, and safeguarding matters
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Experience managing operational performance, quality standards, and budgets
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build strong partnerships and work effectively across organisational boundaries
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and person-centred practice
  • Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity required
  • Evidence of an overseas police check required if the candidate has lived or worked abroad
