About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Contracts and Payer Relations Manager with the contracting process
  • Log and track contracts, amendments, and agreements to ensure timely and accurate review and approvals
  • Maintain accurate contract records, files, and supporting documentation
  • Monitor provider update emails and the contracts mailbox for requests and required actions
  • Maintain internal location and service databases and update changes
  • Ensure accurate directory information internally and with payers
  • Support contract-related rate and system setup in the electronic health record with the revenue cycle team
  • Perform quality assurance for rate, site, and service configuration in electronic health record and payer systems
  • Complete and submit site addition/change forms to payers
  • Maintain site identifiers and program credentials, including updates in the EHR
  • Resolve contract-related denials or billing issues with the Contracts and Payer Relations Manager, payers, and Claims department
  • Update NC Tracks, NPPES, Alpha CMS, Provider Direct, payer, and internal systems to reflect agency changes and terminations
  • Assist with EHR and internal system assessments and develop strategies to improve system efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s Degree from a USDOE or CHEA accredited institution, or accredited High School Diploma with 3 years’ work experience in behavioral healthcare, contracting, or provider relations
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance, Managed Care Organization (MCO) IPRS Billing, or NC Tracks
  • 1–3 years’ experience working in Alpha CMS and/or Provider Direct
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • State-appropriate, unrestricted driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance
  • Experience with legal documents and contracting preferred
  • Must possess visual acuity for written correspondence and accuracy review
  • Must be able to talk, hear, sit for long periods, speak audibly, write legibly, and perform repetitive computer/data-entry motions
  • Must be able to work in a shared office environment with respect and professionalism
