About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide on-site field service support through installation, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance of complex capital equipment and systems
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot semiconductor equipment
- Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance schedules across customer sites
- Ensure strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements
- Support multiple equipment platforms with flexibility and technical depth
- Report equipment status, EHS concerns, and action items to the Service Manager through regular updates
- Engage with customers as the primary technical contact, managing service-related discussions and expectations
- Maintain and oversee the performance of assigned equipment installations and installed base
- Work scheduled and occasional shifts and be available for on-call duty
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor field service
- Strong electrical knowledge, including ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Proven ability to apply systematic, step-by-step troubleshooting methodologies to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions
- Excellent knowledge of EHS guidelines and best practices with a safety-first mindset
- Able to perform physical work on tools in a cleanroom environment
- Fluent in either English or German, with basic conversational proficiency in the other language
- Knowledge of Japanese or Chinese would be an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally for training and business purposes, including Europe, Japan, and the United States
- Valid driver's license for Europe
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, with a growth mindset, positive attitude, and long-term perspective
