About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify prospective acquisition and investment targets
- Prepare executive-ready presentations with strategic framing, analysis and recommendations
- Analyze industry trends across technology, competitors, consumers and regulatory developments
- Evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities with business and product teams
- Conduct valuation analyses using multiple methodologies
- Develop business and integration case models
- Quarterback due diligence and evaluate due diligence results
- Develop transaction strategy and conduct negotiations
- Facilitate and manage acquisition and investment processes with cross-functional teams
- Coordinate with the M&A Integration team
- Drive transaction activities to closure
- Report to the Senior Director / Director of Corporate Development
- Support strategic investments, commercial deals, technology and talent tuck-ins, and larger-scale M&A transactions
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA or BS undergraduate degree
- At least two years of relevant work experience at a top-tier investment bank, corporate development team, private equity or venture capital firm
- Dedication to working eBay's Hybrid Model with 3 days per week in the San Jose, CA corporate headquarters office, or 3 days per week onsite in the New York City office
- Strong strategic problem-solving skills
- Deal experience
- Collaboration skills
- Ability to perform strategic and quantitative analysis
- Experience with due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring and negotiations
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Tax, Accounting, Legal, Human Resources, business units and product teams
- Ability to drive projects and tasks to conclusion
- Ability to coach, mentor, give and receive feedback
- Ability to understand eBay's business and transaction or project objectives
- Problem-solving, curiosity, proactivity and resourcefulness
