Key responsibilities & impact

Build end-to-end product capabilities across frontend and backend systems
Deliver user-facing applications, backend services, and APIs supporting eBay’s global customer service experience
Enhance agent tools, workflow engines, and automation platforms to improve agent productivity and customer outcomes
Contribute to AI-powered platform capabilities, orchestration layers, automation systems, and intent-to-action workflows
Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of core systems through high-quality, well-tested code
Partner with Product, SRE, and multifunctional engineering teams on code reviews, design documentation, and engineering practices
Reduce technical debt and drive operational improvements
Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation
Mentor junior engineers or lead smaller workstreams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of strong full stack software engineering experience
Java 11+ and Spring Boot for backend development
JavaScript or TypeScript for modern frontend development
Experience building REST APIs, distributed systems, and responsive web applications
Experience with React, Angular, or similar technologies
Understanding of messaging systems such as Kafka
Experience using SQL and NoSQL databases in production environments
Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes
Strong testing approaches across unit, integration, and frontend layers
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
Ability to contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and multifunctional delivery efforts
Interest in or familiarity with AI-assisted development and AI-powered systems
