About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Review balance sheet and income statement activity, investigate variances, and provide financial analysis
  • Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger activity and financial records
  • Serve as a finance partner to internal departments, answering questions and providing financial support
  • Coordinate external audit activities, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Support federal and state tax compliance processes and review supporting documentation
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes, reports, and ERP system templates
  • Assist with inventory, insurance, and other financial reporting requirements
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • CPA required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Experience supporting external audits and tax compliance activities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis
  • Experience with ERP or general ledger systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior accounting staff preferred
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous process improvement
